Long-Term Positions — Embedded Project Roles
We are recruiting for senior professionals to fill key personnel positions within IRC-led and consortium projects. These are substantive, long-term roles that sit at the heart of programme delivery — typically funded under competitive bids and subject to donor approval. - Team Lead/ Chief of Party/Project Director:
Provide overall strategic leadership, donor relationship management and programme governance for large-scale, multi-year projects. Accountable for delivery quality, compliance, and results across all workstreams. Strong track record of leading FCDO, World Bank or equivalent programmes essential. - Deputy Team Leader / Deputy Chief of Party/Deputy Project Director:
Support the Team Leader/Chief of Party/Project Director in strategic oversight while driving day-to-day operational and technical management. A critical leadership role, ideal for experienced programme managers ready to step up to Team Leader level. - Technical Lead:
Provide focused leadership over a specific technical workstream — such as education, health, livelihoods or protection — within a larger programme. Responsible for technical quality, staffing and partner oversight within their component.
Finance, Operations & Compliance
- Finance Director / Head of Finance:
Lead all financial management functions for complex, multi-donor projects. Responsibilities include budget oversight, forecasting, audit preparation, and ensuring full compliance with FCDO, World Bank, EU and other donor requirements. - Finance Manager / Deputy Finance Manager:
Manage day-to-day project financial operations including cash flow, sub-award management, financial reporting and donor compliance. Experience with institutional donor financial regulations essential. - Grants & Contracts Manager:
Oversee grant management, sub-award compliance, contract administration and donor reporting timelines. Expertise in managing consortium sub-grants and understanding of key donor grant conditions strongly preferred. - Procurement & Supply Chain Manager:
Oversee grant management, sub-award compliance, contract administration and donor reporting timelines. Expertise in managing consortium sub-grants and understanding of key donor grant conditions strongly preferred. - Procurement & Supply Chain Manager:
Ensure transparent, compliant procurement and logistics systems in line with donor rules and IRC standards. Experience managing procurement in complex or fragile operating environments. - Operations Manager:
Oversee all operational functions — HR, IT, facilities, logistics — ensuring project systems run efficiently and in compliance with IRC and donor operational standards.
Gender Equality, Social Inclusion & Disability (GESDI) / Safeguarding
- GESDI Lead / Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor:
Lead gender equality, disability inclusion, and social cohesion mainstreaming across all programme components. Develop GESDI strategies, conduct training, and ensure compliance with FCDO Smart Rules, World Bank ESF and other institutional gender frameworks. - Protection & Safeguarding Advisor:
Design and operationalise safeguarding frameworks, PSEA policies, and GBV mainstreaming across programmes. Provide staff training, partner capacity strengthening and lead incident response processes.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)
- MEAL Director / Head of MEAL:
Design and lead the MEAL architecture for large-scale programmes. Expertise in CLA approaches, adaptive management, mixed-methods research, and real-time data systems for donor reporting and programme learning. - MEAL Manager / Senior MEAL Officer:
Implement MEAL plans, lead data collection and analysis, manage accountability mechanisms, and produce results reporting. Experience with digital data collection tools and statistical analysis packages preferred. - Research & Learning Advisor:
Lead research components within programmes, synthesise evidence for adaptive management, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for programme teams and donors.
Technical Leads — Programme Sectors
Senior Technical Lead positions are required within each major programme sector, providing technical direction, quality assurance, capacity building, and thought leadership in Health, Education, Economic Recovery & Livelihoods, Climate Change & Food Security, Protection & GBV etc.
Technical Consultants — LTTA & STTA Roster
IRC is building a standing roster of independent technical consultants available for Long-Term Technical Assistance (LTTA) and Short-Term Technical Assistance (STTA) assignments across our global programme portfolio. Examples include: senior technical advisors, MEAL specialists, capacity strengthening advisors, and research leads.

What Types of Assignments Do We Offer?
- STTA (Short-Term Technical Assistance): Discrete, time-bound assignments typically ranging from a few days to three months.
- LTTA (Long-Term Technical Assistance): Extended technical/advisory roles embedded within programmes, typically three months to years.
